If Viagra Doesn’t Help, Do It This Way

The presence of Viagra 25 years ago seemed to be a magical solution to problems commonly experienced by men. Just need to Buy Viagra, taking a pill, and immediately a man no longer has erectile dysfunction.

Although this iconic drug remains one of the most popular prescription drugs in the world, many people find this pill often does not fulfill the promises made in the ad.

“We found the fact that Viagra is like other drugs. Some patients are better off after using the pill than others,” John Wheeler, MD, a urologist at Loyola University Medical Center.

Although manufacturers of erectile dysfunction drugs (including Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra) say, their products are as effective as 75 to 85 percent, an independent study shows that the numbers tend to be in the range of 50 to 60 percent.

Viagra works by increasing blood flow to male genitals with erectile dysfunction caused by health conditions such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, and high blood pressure. Sometimes this pill is not effective because a man’s body rejects it.

“It’s very common for the body to build defenses against drugs, so it takes more time to make it effective,” said Dr. Wheeler.

Some men also cannot use erectile dysfunction drugs due to certain medical conditions, such as heart disease, heart attack, stroke, irregular heart rhythm, uncontrolled high or low blood pressure, severe liver, kidney disease, or eye problems (retinitis pigmentosa)

Following are the steps Dr. Wheeler recommends if Viagra doesn’t work:

Make sure that you take Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction

Viagra will not work if it is used to overcome reduced sexual desire. If you feel less passionate, maybe the problem lies in low testosterone levels. Doctors can give a simple blood test for this hormone.

Make sure you get the original medicine

The best way to avoid fake Viagra is to buy or order only from a licensed pharmacy.

Try one of Viagra’s competitors, like Cialis and Levitra

This drug works with a slightly different mechanism. “Some erectile dysfunction drugs work better for some people than others,” Dr. Wheeler said. This method is also quite helpful if the body is refusing the drug.

Quit smoking

Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor, which blocks blood flow to all organs, including the genitals. “If young men realize that they will lose an erection when they get older, they will never start smoking,” said Dr. Wheeler.

Find out the cause of erectile dysfunction

The underlying causes of erectile dysfunction such as diabetes, heart disease, or high cholesterol, may require more intensive care.

Do not rush

A fact that is often forgotten: erectile dysfunction drugs work together with sexual arousal. Longer foreplay can help the drug work optimally. “Wives can help husbands do this, and they are usually very happy to help,” said Dr. Wheeler.

Do not give up

If the erectile dysfunction medication does not work, there are other alternatives in the form of medical equipment and injection drugs. “Some of them may appear to inhibit spontaneity, but people who use them find that the drug works very well,” concluded Dr. Wheeler.
