Arts In Training cultivates learning and creative development for all college students and academics by selling, encouraging, and supporting arts and tradition as an integral part of education and lifelong learning for residents and visitors. Arts schooling has been slipping for greater than three decades, the results of tight budgets, an ever-growing listing of state mandates which have crammed the classroom curriculum, and a public sense that the humanities are beautiful but not essential. The mission of Persevering with the Dialog is to advertise and advance dialogue with a purpose to identify and work on pressing issues in the Arts in Schooling sector and to encourage those concerned to guide and create change on this sector and past by way of expanding the place of the arts in education and in society.
Dana Frantz Bentley, Ed.M.’05, a preschool teacher at Buckingham Browne and Nichols Faculty in Cambridge, is the author of On a regular basis Artists: Inquiry and Creativity within the Early Childhood Classroom (New York: Teachers School Press, 2013) and of a wide range of articles on the humanities, pedagogy, and instructor research within the early childhood classroom.
